Why Southeast Asian Contractors Are Turning to Aftermarket Parts
These days, many contractors in Southeast Asia are getting tired of waiting months for original Develon parts. With so many new road and mining projects moving forward, machine downtime has become a real headache.
I’ve spoken with several fleet managers recently, and they all say the same thing — good quality aftermarket parts are now a practical choice. Especially for hydraulic pumps, travel motors, and swing reducers, the performance is very close to original, but delivery is much faster and prices are more reasonable.
One contractor in Thailand told me he saved nearly 35% on maintenance costs last year after switching to reliable compatible parts. That said, you really need to choose carefully because not every supplier can deliver the same level of quality. In my experience, working with a dependable one makes a big difference in the long run. From what I’m seeing on the ground, more and more people will likely go this route as we move further into 2026.
